He then embarked upon an unusual career path. Paul De Souter first worked for Generale Bank, in charge of branch customer management.

He soon left his job to start working as a sales representative for the firm Ciba-Geigy, and later became district manager.

He then worked for the firm Gist Brocades, as a sales and product manager. He was then employed as a marketing & sales manager for Belgium and Luxembourg, and a general manager for the Benelux at Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals.  

Paul De Souter later joined Therabel as managing director. He would then work to defend the pharmaceutical industry on a professional level during 4 terms as President of the Association Générale de l’Industrie Pharmaceutique .

He states: "Human relationships have always been at the forefront of my career. And they are still the priority today. Each company or association is a synergy of human strength.
